About Me
I am a friendly, aspiring student at Griffith University, who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in accounting. I am passionate about working in team environments, helping others, and employing new strategies to solve problems.
Throughout my high schooling journey, I studied various elements of accounting in both years 11 and 12; achieving highly in both years. During these classes, I had to spend time analysing data and incorporating it into excel documents to then calculate various profits and expenses. In addition, I used data to create both financial statements and trial balances. Finally, I use these documents to help guide businesses in the most beneficial direction. These activities have shaped my knowledge and helped me achieve my goals - to this day - as I found the idea of helping steer people in the right direction welcoming.
I thrive in team-based environments, taking control of the situation and enjoy helping others to solve problems. In the future, I aspire to take on a beneficial role as an accountant, where I can steer businesses in the right direction, helping people with financial stability and security.

Professional Experiences
As of today, I am currently a paid basketball referee for Brisbane Basketball Inc. where I must umpire junior basketball games. Refereeing these games has helped me develop vital skills such as problem solving, teamwork, leadership and communication. This consists of guiding new players, helping them understand the game rules, and acting quickly whenever a misconception is present. I am faced with various issues such as confused teams and disappointed parents, which has assisted me in keeping a positive mindset, no matter the circumstances. All of these hindrances have enabled me to problem-solve effectively and take action as soon as possible.

Personal Achievements
Leadership in a Team Environment
Whenever it comes to playing basketball, I will try my best to take charge and devise a plan that benefits the team helping everyone play effectively. Whenever it comes to a game, I will decide on a game plan that benefits the team the most but if any of my teammates have a different plan or something to add to it, I will hear them out and test it in game. If the game plan doesn't seem to be working too well, we will discuss whether it is effective or not and come up with any ways to improve it. Another example of this, is whenever I am at basketball training. During training I will attempt to take control of training session and brainstorm various drills and activities that benefit my team through improving their technique and decision-making. Lastly, this enables me to develop a greater understanding of how my team thinks and plays, greatly improving my leadership skills.
Problem Solving in a Work Environment
Whenever it comes to dealing with inconveniences, I tend to handle them efficiently and effectively. Each time I have refereed a basketball game, I have been faced with various issues relating to the game. These issues could vary between injuries that have occurred during the game or hazards present on the court. I have always managed to sort out these problems, no matter how difficult they are, I always find an alternative. An example of this being when it has been raining and water has leaked onto the court. My immediate thought is to stop the game and acquire a towel to mop up the water. Another example of problem-solving is when an argument has broken out on the court. I immediately respond to this situation by stopping the game and giving the players a warning for arguing on the court. Each time a fight has started among the players, I have used this strategy to effectively silence them and continue with the game.
